  • 1. Type 3 life jacket
  • 2. Keen (type) water sandals. Must have protected toes area.(These are VERY important as they have a very beefy toe cap to protect your kids feet from under water rocks/objects, stay on VERY well, and have excellent traction. No slip ons) Google: boating shoes for kids
  • 3. sun hat (Smiths hardware in Saugerties has very good straw hats for $7)
  • 4. sunscreen (Badger sunscreen is the best, won't irritate skin and is all natural, can be purchased at most health food stores)
  • 5. Rain jacket or rain poncho (IMPORTANT TO KEEP YOUR CHILD WARM AND COMFORTABLE IF WE .... GET CAUGHT IN RAIN)
  • 6. sunglasses (they can be cheap but must block 100% UVA and UVB sunlight)
  • 7. Lunch and snacks (Lunch boxes that are collapsible and insulated are preferred)
  • 8. 30-oz insulated, metal water bottle
  • 9. 30-litre water proof dry sack (lightinthebox.com). Everything will go in the dry sack.
